Meet the Counseling Team
Amy Aldrich

Amy was certified as a Biblical Counselor through ACBC in 2022. She can attest to the life-changing work God accomplishes through biblical counseling after previously going through the Mill Creek counseling ministry herself. She is passionate about helping others in the same way. Currently, she is enjoying serving with the counseling department in an administrative role. Along with serving at Mill Creek, she works part-time as a library associate. When she is not working at the library or church you can find her disc golfing with her husband, Jason, or spending time with her family.
Barb Bridges

Barb has Bachelor's Degrees in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Kansas. She also has a Master's Degree in Biblical Counseling from Calvary Bible College and Seminary. She has previously worked at Advice and Aid Crisis Pregnancy Center and Westside Family Church. She used to teach at Maranatha Academy and Calvary Bible College. She received her ACBC (Association of Certified Biblical Counselors) certification in 2021. She has been volunteering at Millcreek's counseling center for 6 years.
Pastor Marty Burch

Marty is in charge of discipleship, mentoring, and the counseling ministry. He oversees the team managing church business and finances, teaches at our gatherings and in small groups, and helps train discipleship and counseling leaders. Marty is a staff elder on Mill Creek’s elder board. Marty has been serving in pastoral ministry since 1988 and with Mill Creek since 1997. He holds a degree in Pastoral Studies and a Master’s degree in Counseling. He is certified as a biblical counselor through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (www.biblicalcounseling.com).
Jordan Murphy

Jordan graduated from Cedarville University with a Bachelor’s in Business Management in 2016. He has served in bi-vocational ministry for several years. He is a former pastoral intern at Mill Creek and currently serves as a pastoral assistant. He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity degree through Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and is a certified biblical counselor through ACBC (Association of Certified Biblical Counselors).
Beverly Richardson

Beverly Richardson has served as a Biblical Counselor on the counseling staff of Mill Creek Community Church since 2016. She received her counseling training at Faith Church in Lafayette, Indiana where she was a member for eighteen years. In 2006, she was certified for Biblical counseling by the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC- formerly known as the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors, or NANC.) In 1968, she graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. During her teaching career, she taught general music and directed high school and middle school choirs in Kansas and Indiana. She also enjoyed giving private voice lessons and was proud to see several of her students pursue professional music careers. She is married to Dr. Ralph Richardson, DVM, and they have three married sons and fourteen grandchildren.
Bob Smith
Bob is a member of Mill Creek Community Church and is an ACBC-certified Biblical Counselor. He seeks to glorify God and serve and love people by counseling through his church and at Reigning Grace Counseling Center, teaching Sunday school, and leading a small group Bible study. He humbly admits he is a sinner saved by grace, walking by faith, and dependent on the Holy Spirit for daily living. He has been married to his wife Linda for over 48 years. He has two married daughters, one married son, two granddaughters, and four grandsons. He is retired from the USPS and is devoting his remaining years to counseling people in the Word of God and exalting the Lord Jesus Christ.
Patrick Van Hoecke

Patrick has served as a staff member of the Mill Creek Community Church Counseling team for over 16 years. He is a licensed minister and has over 32 years of combined vocational ministry experience working with individuals, families, and churches. He and his wife Valerie are long-time members of Mill Creek Community Church. Patrick and Valerie have five sons, including a beautiful daughter-in-law and a precious granddaughter and grandson. He holds a Master's of Biblical Counseling Degree from Trinity Seminary. Additionally, he earned Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Kansas. He has served as a Certified Christian Conciliator through the Institute of Christian Conciliation since 2009 and serves as a certification coach for candidates working through the certification process. He also serves as the leader of Peace of Christ Biblical Counseling and Conciliation, a ministry of Christian Life Outfitters, Inc., which he co-founded in 1993. He has a passion for Gospel ministry to the struggling and downhearted. Patrick is a lifelong resident of Kansas. He enjoys spending time with his family in the outdoors playing disc golf, kayaking, fishing, and hiking. His personal mission statement is "Sharing the Gospel Through Sharing Our Lives" based on 1 Thessalonians 2:8.
