Matt believes that there is truly nothing more incredible than the Gospel of Jesus Christ! He has a passion to see others grow in their faith and strengthen in their Christian worldview through a clear understanding of God's Word. Prior to moving to Kansas City, he spent three years engaged in vocational student ministry in Little Rock, AR. Matt and Lindsey moved to KC in the fall of 2021 in pursuit of theological education--an adventure that led them to Mill Creek where he serves as a staff-elder.
Matt graduated from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2023, having earned a Master's of Theological Studies with a Discipleship Ministries focus. He continues to pursue informal education and loves to learn--be it history, theology, science, or beyond. You can often find him listening to a podcast, reading a book, or scribbling thoughts across a whiteboard.
He married the love of his life, Lindsey (a fellow Arkansan), in December 2018. They both still have Arkansas in their blood and one may hear "Woo Pig" shouted during church functions. Matt is a lover of all things nerdy and outdoorsy. Star Wars, Tolkien, board games, running, hiking, campfires, podcasts, books, coffee, good food, and good friends are some of the things that he enjoys most!
