Reed Brown

Reed Brown newReed was born in Tyler, TX, and grew up in Lansing, KS. He graduated from the United States Military Academy and joined the Army in 2005.

Shortly after joining the Army, he married Becky. After his second tour in Iraq, the couple left the Army and moved back to the Kansas City where Reed began working as a geotechnical engineer for the US Army Corps of Engineers.

Reed was saved at a young age, accepting Christ as his Savior and following Him in believer’s baptism. Since being saved, his walk with Christ has had peaks and valleys -- primarily due, he says, to his own weaknesses and failures. Whether it was his parents’ divorce, dad’s death, tours in Iraq with the military, or other struggles, Christ has been there to comfort, guide, and strengthen him.

Becky and Reed have two rambunctious sons, Austin and Lucas. Modeling God’s love for them is a continually humbling and enlightening experience. Reed finds comfort, and conviction, in the story of Paul’s redemption, knowing that the same God who worked in and through Paul would sacrifice His son to suffer and die so that he could serve and worship Him. He is truly humbled by the opportunity to serve as an elder at Mill Creek, and prays that God will continue to guide him to His glory.
