Mill Creek’s History

Mill Creek began in the Spring of 1995 as a strategic Church Plant in the DeSoto School District. Our founding church is the Olathe Bible Church (OBC). The Elders of Olathe Bible had been praying for a couple of years about starting a work in one of a number of possible places. After seeing the Lord lead in a number of ways, the decision was made to plant a church along the “K7 corridor” (south of Bonner Springs, north of Olathe).

OBC called Gary Pauley to pastor the new plant, which began as a class meeting within OBC’s ministry. After months of prayer and invitation, 101 people from Olathe Bible Church agreed to help pioneer the new work.

We are an independent, non-denominational church in the conservative, evangelical tradition.

From the beginning our desire has been to be a church where meaningful, contemporary worship is followed by careful, serious Biblical instruction.

In January of 1999, we completed the purchase of 20 acres of land at 79th & Gleason, where we have now built a multi-purpose facility.

In September of 2009,  Mill Creek purchased a warehouse building at 8151 McCoy in Shawnee.   We’ve renovated the building to add space for our Student Ministries, Children’s Ministries and a multi-purpose area for an additional worship and fellowship functions.  We’ve begun an additional service on Sundays at McCoy beginning at 10:15 a.m. Click here to learn more about our McCoy campus!
